New Gen, Muaz, 33, ED of Jaycorp, is grandson of Tan Sri Abdul Majid Khan

FY 2023 JAYCORP'S REVENUE WAS RM223 M, PRE-TAX PROFIT RM26.3 M

New Gen Muaz bin Jema Anton Khan joined the Board of listed Jaycorp Berhad on 24 June 2016. The company is controlled by the Khan family. Muaz graduated from University College London (UCL) with a BS.c. (Honours) in Human Genetics in 2011. He worked in CIMB Private Equity for a year and then joined the family run business at Jaycorp Berhad. In 2016 he was appointed as ED .

Jaycorp's principal business is the manufacture and sale of rubberwood furniture (about 60% of total revenue). The company was formerly Yeo Aik Resources Berhad when it was listed in Bursa Malaysia in 2002. In 2006 it changed its name to Jaycorp Berhad. The Group's other businesses are in wood processing, packaging, renewable energy, and construction.In August 2022, Jaycorp signed up for a new venture with PT Tiga Mutiara Nusantara (“PTTMN”), with Weston Asia I Inc. and Putian Yihong Wood Industry Co., Ltd for the manufacturing and selling of finger-jointed finished gesso coated and primed moulding products.

For FYE ended 31 July 2023 Jaycorp's revenue was RM223 million and pre-tax profit RM26.3 million. The company was profitable even during the pandemic years.

Muaz is the grandson of Tan Sri Abdul Majid Khan, Executive Chairman of Jaycorp. Tan Sri Abdul Majid Khan (80) was the Political Secretary to the late Tun Fuad Stephens, first Chief Minister of Sabah. He was the Information Chief of Party Berjaya Sabah ( 1979 -1985), the Founder and Chairman of Sabah Development Bank (1978 to 1985), Founder and Director of Sabah Bank Berhad (1979 to 1985) and Chairman of Sabah Finance Berhad (1977 to 1985).Tan Sri was a Director of  MAS (1980 to 1985),  Chairman of Ranhill Power Berhad (2004 to 2015), Chairman of Dunham-Bush Holdings Berhad (2009- 2013) and is now the Chairman of Jawala Corporation. Tan Sri and his son, Datuk Jema Anton Khan are major shareholders of Jaycorp.

Muaz's sister, Nadja, 35, graduated from Imperial College London with a BS.c. (Honours) in Biomedical Sciences in 2010. She worked with Deloitte LLP, UK for several years before returning to Malaysia in 2017. She is a Director of Jaycorp and is its Financial Controller.
