FOR FYE 2022 CHIN HIN'S REVENUE WAS  RM1.63 BILLION AND PRE-TAX PROFIT RM116.6 M

Chin Hin group began as a hardware shop in 1974 in Alor Setar, Kedah. It was a small family business which
Datuk Seri Chiau Beng Teik, 61, eventually took over and diversified into the trading of building materials and cement transportation in 1994. His son, Chiau Haw Choon, 39, joined the family business after graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Marketing from Deakin University, Australia in 2009.Haw Choon had bigger dreams and his father spurred him on seeing that he had the advantage of an overseas education. Haw Choon's sister, Shelly Chiau Yee Wern, 32,  is an Executive Director on Chin Hin's board.She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree, Business Administration in Entrepreneurship from Les Roches International School of Hotel Management Bluche, Switzerland in December 2013. In June 2018, she was appointed as the Chief Operating Officer at BKG Development Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Chin Hin Group Property Berhad. She is also a Director of  Chin Hin Group Property Berhad and Signature International Berhad. 

Chin Hin Group ventured into the ready-mixed concrete business in 2008 and began its fast track transformation into a one-stop building materials distributor. Its Starken AAC factory at Serendah, Selangor is the largest AAC  producer in Malaysia. In 2016 Chin Hin Group Berhad was listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia. In 2017 it bought into listed Boon Koon Group Bhd, a Penang based manufacturer of rebuilt commercial vehicles and changed its name to Chin Hin Group Property Berhad to focus on property development.

In March 2021 Chin Hin acquired a strategic 31.2% stake in listed kitchen cabinet manufacturer Signature International Bhd for RM93.6m cash. Chiau Haw Choon said that the acquisition was to expand Chin Hin's product range into quality kitchen and home living solutions. This was followed in March 2022 with the acquisition of 24.68% in listed Ajiya Berhad, a manufacturer of glass products, metal roofing, metal doors and window frames.Then in May 2022, Chin Hin via Signature International acquired 29.59% stake in listed Fiamma Holdings Bhd, whose core business is the distribution of electrical home appliances, kitchen and built-in furniture. Chin Hin also has a 17.72% stake in listed Solarvest Holdings Bhd.

Haw Choon, Group MD of Chin Hin, is now focusing on consolidating the business of its various acquisitions. For FYE 31 Dec 2022 Chin Hin Group reported revenue of RM1.63 billion and pre-tax profit of RM116.6 million.
