YTL Power in tie up with Nvidia joins the AI league

FYE 2023 YTL POWER ACHIEVED REVENUE OF RM21 BILLION AND PRE-TAX PROFIT RM2.45 BILLION

Dato' Yeoh Seok Hong, an engineer who helms YTL Power International, the biggest contributor to revenue and profit of the YTL Group, is the man of the hour! He has in striking a deal with Nvidia's founder, the charismatic Taiwanese American Jensen Huang, who in certain poses closely resemble Junichi Okada (The Fable), launched YTL Power into the New AI era league. Nvidia pioneered accelerated computing to tackle challenges no one else can solve. Jensen Huang has been President/CEO of Nvidia since its establishment in 1993. He is now the world's richest semiconductor entrepreneur (net worth $42 billion). He holds a MSEE degree from Stanford University.

 Dato' Yeoh Seok Hong has emerged from the shadow of his eldest brother, Tan Sri (Sir) Francis Yeoh, the face of YTL Group for decades. For FYE 30 June 2023, YTL Power achieved revenue of RM21 billion and its highest-ever pre-tax profit of RM2.45 billion. The group has operations, investments and projects in Malaysia, Singapore, the U.K. Indonesia, Jordan and the Netherlands.

Nvidia will partner YTL Power to develop AI infrastructure in Malaysia in a $4.3 billion investment deal which includes supercomputers and cloud computing. The project will be hosted at YTL's Data Centre Park in Johor. Jensen said that the Malaysian hub will be important for S.E.Asia's computing infrastructure (Reuters).

Dato' Yeoh Seok Hong, 64, holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) Civil & Structural Engineering Degree from the University of Bradford, U.K and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), U.K. Dato' Yeoh was previously the MD of Syarikat Pembenaan Yeoh Tiong Lay Sdn Bhd, the YTL Group’s flagship construction arm. He is responsible for developing the power and utility businesses of YTL Power. He was redesignated to the position of MD of YTL Power on 29 June 2018. He is also on the EXCO of YTL Corporation and Malayan Cement Berhad which are both YTL listed entities.
