LEE FAMILY CONTROLLED TMK CHEMICAL IS MANAGED BY PROFESSIONALS

Her grandfather is the late Tan Sri Dato' Seri Lee Loy Seng, patriarch of the Lee family clan which controls Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad (KLK) and Batu Kawan Berhad. Yan Ling's father is Dato' Lee Soon Hian, brother of Tan Sri Dato' Seri Lee Oi Hian, Executive Chairman of KLK and Dato' Lee Hau Hian, MD of Batu Kawan and Chairman of Chemical Company of Malaysia Berhad. She joined the board of TMK on 6 Oct 2023 prior to listing.

Though TMK is Lee family controlled, it is run by professionals. MD/ED Wong Kin Wah, 54, has been with TMK for over 27 years having risen from the ranks.  Yan Ling, 31, is the only Lee member on the board representing the family. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce University of Adelaide, Australia and is currently a Director/Investment Strategist with Crestline Capital Pte Ltd.

TMK Chemical Bhd, founded in 1989 as Taiko Marketing was recently listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia on 12 Dec 2024. It is one of the largest industrial chemical suppliers in the region with 15 operating facilities across Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam.TMK specialises in total chemical management - sourcing, processing, distribution, and value-added services for inorganic chemicals. Its customers are manufacturers, industrial companies, and trading firms locally and internationally.
For FY 2025 TMK registered revenue of RM1.05 billion and PBT of RM120.4 million.

As at 3 April 2025 TMK's major shareholder is Dato' Lee Soon Hian (39.50%) and his children - Lee Yan ling (3.566%), Lee Hong Zhang (3.559%), Lee Sen Zhang (3.559%) and Lee Tian Zhang (3.559%). Deputy CM/ED of TMK, Leong Chao Seong (63) who has been with the company since 1989 holds a stake of 11.59% and Lee Oi Loon holds 6.48%.
