Dato' Chu Jenn Weng leads Vitrox Corporation through 25 years of unbroken profits trend

FY2025 VITROX ACHIEVES REVENUE RM843.14 MILLION, PBT RTM176.65 MILLION

Three Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) graduates led by Dato' Chu Jenn Weng, built up Penang based ViTrox Corporation Berhad into a global industry leader in machine vision technology together with their army of engineers. Dato' Chu, Siaw Kok Tong (ED/Senior VP ViTrox) and Yeoh Shih Hoong (ED/Senior VP ViTrox) were in their mid-30s when they began their tech dreams in a small rented place in year 2000. Dato' Chu holds a Master of Science in Image Processing and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, both from USM. Siaw holds a Bachelor's degree (First Class Hons) in Computer Science and Yeoh also holds a Bachelor's degree (First Class Hons) in Computer Science. Dato' Chu met Siaw when they worked for several years in Hewlett-Packard Malaysia. They left in 1999 and started ViTrox in 2000. Yeoh joined the team the same year. ViTrox has reported 25 years of unbroken profits. 

For FY 2025 ViTrox reported revenue of RM 843.14 million and PBT RM176.65 million. As at 2 April 2025 Dato' Chu holds 26.64% of the shares of Vitrox, Siaw holds 17.75% and Yeoh 8.58%. Forbes ranked Dato' Chu (55) as one of the 50 richest in Malaysia 2026 with a net worth of US$565 million.

Dato' Chu Jenn Weng, EY Entrepreneur 2022, is a Malaysia Boleh man. His aim is to inspire ordinary Malaysians like himself to build world class companies. In 2024 he and Siaw and Yeoh launched the Cambrian Fund (RM150 million) a venture capital initiative managed by Singapore-based Southern Capital Group aimed at fostering Malaysia's next wave of Industrial 4.0 innovators. in April 2026 he announced the RM60 million ViTrox Innovation Lab, first of its kind in SE Asia, to nurture future engineers in collaboration with UCSI's Mechatronics Engineering degree at ViTrox's industrial campus. USM engineering students have the same access.
