T7 Global Berhad's Executive Deputy Chairman, Tan Sri Datuk Seri Tan Kean Soon (62) caused a big stir in the market when he suddenly resigned from his post on 31 March 2025. It was the Hari Raya holidays and when the market opened on Wednesday 2 April, T7 Global's shares experienced a 36% fall in a single day. Bursa Malaysia immediately queried the company specifically as to whether tan sri Tan was under investigation by any authority and if there was an investigation, whether it was related to T7 Global group. The Board responded that it merely received Tan Sri Tan's resignation letter and that "it was not informed by Tan Sri Tan on the details of the investigation (if any)." The Board further "confirmed unequivocally that, to the best of the Board's knowledge, there is no investigation on T7 Global Berhad."

Acting Executive Chairman, Tan Sri Datuk Seri Dr. Nik Norzrul Thani bin N. Hassan Thani (66), a substantial shareholder in the company, assured investors that the Board and the key Management team who have effectively overseen the Group's operations will continue to do so with "minimal disruption and continued focus on delivering value to all stakeholders." T7 Global has an order book of RM4.5 billion for FYE 2024 having secured a few major contracts from top O&G companies that would provide stable recurring income streams according to Group CEO Jim Tan Kay Zhuin, son of Tan Sri Tan. Kay Zhuin (36), holds a Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering (Hons) from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. He worked as a production engineer with KrisEnergy Limited in Singapore and later Toyo Engineering Corporation in Japan before joining T7 Global's subsidiary, Tanjung Offshore Services Sdn Bhd in 2016 to head the offshore construction and maintenance segment. On 5 September 2022 he was appointed Group CEO of T7 Global to head a qualified professional team that has expertise in the Energy and Industrial Solutions divisions.
Tan Kay Vin (34), is Chief Executive Director of the Industrial Solutions Division and Corporate Affairs of the Group. Kay Vin holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in Actuarial Science and Finance from the same University as his brother, Kay Zhuin. Prior to joining T7 Global, he worked with Maybank Investment Berhad, Malayan Banking Berhad, Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group and PricewaterhouseCoopers Malaysia. He is currently a director of Malaysian Aerospace Industry Association. In key senior management is also Tan Sri Tan's brother, Datuk Tan Kean Seng (55), who has more than 25 years of experience in the O&G industry. He is Deputy CEO of the Industrial Solutions Division. Datuk Tan holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Central Missouri State University, USA.
Tan Sri Dr Nik Norzrul Thani is the Executive Chairman of Messrs Zaid Ibrahim & Co, one of Malaysia's largest law firms. He is a distinguished lawyer. He holds a Ph.D. in Law from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London and a Masters in Law from Queen Mary College, U.K. He was a Visiting Fulbright Scholar, Harvard Law School from 1996-1997, Chevening Visiting Fellow at the Oxford Centre of Islamic Studies, Oxford University. Tan Sri Nik Norzrul Thani is also beneficially interested in 16.126% of the shares of T7 Global.
Tan Sri Tan Kean Soon's resignation for personal reasons was not well received by investors because he is the man who has been steering the T7 Global group with his more than 30 years experience in the O&G upstream and downstream industry. He is only 62. His sons are in their thirties and his mentorship would have been much desired though they have clocked up years of experience in the company. Malicious speculations by bloggers have not helped ease investors' concerns. The mainstream media has refrained from participating in any muckraking.
T7 Global delivered a strong performance for the first quarter ended 31 March 2025 with a profit after tax of RM8.5 million and Group revenue of RM138.9 million.
For FYE 31 December 2024, T7 Global reported revenue of RM647.32 million and profit before tax of RM69.75 million.
