SHE LED THE AWARD WINNING HIBISCUS 3 AFFORDABLE HOMES PROJECT

Lee Wen Ling's grandfather, the late Tan Sri Dato' Sri Lee Loy Seng, founded the Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad (KLK) group (6 July 1973). Under a scheme of reconstruction, KLK brought the former British owned plantation company home to Malaysia. KLK is now the biggest family controlled plantation group in the country.

Her father is Tan Sri Dato' Seri Lee Oi Hian (73), Executive Chairman of KLK and Chairman of Batu Kawan Berhad (BKB), the major shareholder of KLK. Her brother, Lee Jia Zhang (40), is Executive Director/Chief Operating Officer of KLK. Her uncle is Dato' Lee Hau Hian (70), MD of BKB) and a board member of KLK. Lee Wen Ling holds a degree in Economics from the University of Bristol, UK. She joined KLK Land in June 2012 as a sales executive and worked her way up the ranks over the years. She is now MD of KLK Land, the property arm of KLK Group. Wen Ling is behind the award winning Hibiscus 3 affordable homes concept.

KLK diversified into property development to capitalise on its strategic landbank in the 1990s. It began with a JV with Tan & Tan Developments to develop the prestigious gated and guarded Sierramas Township, winner of the FIABCI award. In 2002 Desa Coalfields (230 acres of mixed development) was launched followed by the 1000 acre masterplan development of Bandar Seri Coalfields (BSC) in 2011. BSC is ongoing with its lifestyle destination residences, parks and education facilities (Wesley Methodist Private school - kindergarten to Secondary), its own Auxiliary Police, and Coalfields Retail Park (Q4 2025).
