NAZA GROUP- A MODERN DEMOCRATISED FAMILY OWNED CONGLOMERATE

Nur Nadia is the youngest sibling on the Board of Naza group which is headed by her brother, SM Nasarudin SM Nasimuddin (Group Executive Chairman). The other directors besides Nadia are SM Faliq SM Nasimuddin (Deputy Group Executive Chairman), Nur Diana SM Nasimuddin (ED) and their mother, Puan Sri Datin Seri Utama Zaleha Ismail (co-founder of Naza group with the late Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin). Established in 1975 by the late Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin SM Amin and his wife, Puan Sri Zaleha Ismail, the Naza Group began as a motor trading business. It has since diversified into a leading conglomerate with significant presence in automotive, property, waste management, agro plantation, telecommunication infrastructure, retail and hospitality and portfolio investments.

Nadia and her elder sister, Nur Diana, are actively involved in the F&B  and Lifestyle business of the Naza Group and famous for establishing Dotty's, a famous pastries and coffee place in KLCC, TTDI and IOI Putrajaya. In Feb 2026 Cili Kampung Malaysia became a 50:50 partner for expansion of Dotty's.

The two sisters are also involved in the agro plantation and waste management business, the latter which Naza Corp Holdings acquired from Tan Sri Vincent Tan's Berjaya Enviro Holdings for RM700 million cash in 2024. Tan Sri Vincent Tan is the father-in-law of SM Faliq who is married to Chryseis Tan, ED of Berjaya Corporation.

It is not so common for daughters in a huge family business to have almost equal say on the board level. The SM Nasimuddin siblings have shown the way for a modern democratised family controlled business in Malaysia. Kudos to the two SM Nasimuddin brothers and their mom!
