FASCINATION FOR THE WORLD OF HOTELS SINCE YOUNG, HOSPITALITY FOR ABIGAIL IS A WAY OF LIFE, NOT A JOB.

From young she has had a fascination for the world of hotels. “It's like being transported to a different place,” she recalls everytime she steps foot into a new hotel. Born into a family that owns the global St Giles Hotels brand has something to do with it. During summer breaks from school Abigail would work as an apprentice with the St Giles team. After completing her tertiary studies, she officially joined the hotel group in 2009 as Director of Corporate Affairs and Strategic investments. After 9 years she was appointed CEO of St Giles Hotels' UK, Europe and North America in 2018. Her passion for hospitality is a way of life, not a job.  

Based in London, Abigail  oversees the New York property, The Tuscany - A St Giles Signature Hotel, as well as St Giles Heathrow and St Giles London. Always on the lookout for unique city properties for the next boutique hotel for St Giles, Abigail is a shrewd and sharp negotiator when it comes to strategic investments. She has an eye for what will fit into the heart of the brand. Abigail is also the brainchild of Hotels with a Heart, a charity initiative that raises funds through events primarily for underprivileged children, and education. 

Abigail Tan-Giroud (married name) holds an undergraduate degree in business management, and a Masters degree with Distinction in international management and innovation from the University of Exeter. She is the daughter of Datuk Seri Robert Tan Chung Meng, Group CEO of IGB which owns St. Giles. Abigail has two sisters, Gabrielle and Elizabeth Tan who are holding key management positions in The Gardens Mall Kuala Lumpur.
