TITIJAYA LAND's Executive Director, Charmiane Lim is substantial shareholder

June 21, 2022

"ALMOST TWO DECADES OF WORKING TOGETHER WITH HER FATHER, TAN SRI DATO' LIM SOON PENG (66) IN PROPERTY DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS"

CHARMAINE LIM joined her father's property development company, Titijaya Land Berhad in 2003 upon graduation from the University of Adelaide, Australia with a Bachelor of Commerce (Corporate Finance) degree. She has been responsible for overseeing all the marketing strategies and branding of the Titijaya projects which are principally in the Klang Valley besides learning all aspects of the business. She is a hands on person. Titijaya's projects include Taman Seri Residensi, Innovation Park Bukit Raja, Emporia Shah Alam, DamaiSuria Subang, Park Residency Cheras, Rivera City KL Sentral, Odeon Residency KL and 3RD NVEnue Embassy Row KL.

Charmaine was appointed an Executive Director of Titijaya in 2012. Her innovative strategies and execution has led to her receiving the 100 Most Influential Young Entrepreneurs award for her entrepreneurship in 2016. Working closely with her dad for close to 20 years has built a strong bond between father (Tan Sri Dato' Lim Soon Peng) and daughter. They are often seen together in project launches. Charmaine (41) has been the next gen face of Titijaya principally because of her Marketing role. Her younger brother Lim Poh Yit (38) who has a degree in Computing from Monash University, Australia, also joined the family business after graduation (see next IG post).

Charmaine and her brother are the controlling shareholders of Titijaya. They are deemed beneficially interested in 56.52% of the issued share capital of the company. This is not so common in most family businesses especially when the founder, Tan Sri Lim Soon Peng is only 66. Tan Sri Lim handed over the reins of Titijaya to his son, Lim Poh Yit, when he stepped down as Group MD on 31 March 2021 and Poh Yit was appointed the new Group MD on the same date. Charmaine remains Executive Director.

For FYE 30 June 2021 Titijaya registered revenues of RM253.6 million and pre-tax profit of RM12.7 million.
