Tan Sri Datuk Seri Low Yow Chuan (1932-2021) passed away on 8th May 2021 surrounded by his family and loved ones. He is the son of Tan Sri Low Yat who founded the pre-Merdeka Low Yat Construction in 1947. This is old money family.

Home Improvement hypermarket retailer MR.DIY Group (M) Bhd (MR.DIY) has just launched its 700th outlet at Nu Sentral transportation hub, Kuala Lumpur. This new concept store features a Mr.TOY store within the same premises. MR.TOY was launched in 2019 to cater to children and has expanded to about 30 stores. The Lai siblings, four brothers and a sister, led by youngest brother, Lai Sia Ling (Executive Director) opened their first Econsave Cash & Carry store in Pandamaran, Port Klang in 1997.
