Johore born Robert Kuok grew up in the family business Tong Seng & Co. which traded in rice, sugar and flour in Johor Bahru. His father, Kuok Keng Kang, sent his three boys, Robert and his two elder brothers, Philip and William Kuok, to the prestigious English College of Johore (later renamed Maktab Sultan Abu Bakar). McDonald’s Malaysia franchise ops in Saudi’s Lionhorn group

Lionhorn’s owners, Sheik Fahd and Abdulrahman Alireza bought over the rights to McDonald’s Malaysia and Singapore in December 2016. Reuters reported that a sum of US$400 million was paid for the acquisition. Lionhorn’s owners already operate McDonald’s successfully in Saudi Arabia. Azmir Jaafar is the local Managing Director. Since the takeover from McDonald’s Corporation, Lionhorn has invested substantial sums to expand the chain in this country by opening new stores and remodelling existing ones.

They used to call him the Mini-market King of Klang but he has transcended that local honour. We all have an Achilles heel where the devil can shoot an arrow at to wound us critically.
